i got my car subwoofer, no in its box and took it into my room where i wired it up to a dvd player, the output of the dvd player thingo says 8 ohms in the woofer spots, and a lable on the back says 200-240V 50/60Hz 50W.

My subwoofer, 250RMS 1000max at 4 ohm.

i turned the volume up fully and it made a wierd kinda plastic sound.
did i wreck something? i dont wanna turn it up to the volume where it did that again, but it still works liek normal up until that volume

wait i just turned it up full agian, the sound it makes isnt that loud, it vibrates just as much etc but just at the start of the beat when it hits hard, it makes kinda a sound idk if its supposed to

you havnt blow it , with speakers if you have the volume up high you can acctually feel the air being pushed out from the speaker, of full volume the air coming out is pretty hard and just causes stuff to vibrate it happens to any and every speaker on full blast so dont worry, i find that when things are full volume the bass dies out a bit so keep it at 8-10 prolly =D
