I can't believe people throw things away for a figment of their imaginations.
Foolishness.

Like a girlfriend, boyfriend, sport, habit,TV program, certain types of movies or even friends who just wouldnt share your enthusiasm for God? Things that you felt got in the way?

No, he never answered me so i just finally sad screw him. I have my own beliefs now and they work.

Yes after I got down to business and Truly repented of everything I thought was offensive to God. Over the past 42 years many times after reading or hearing the word of God preached I have found repentance continues to draw me closer to God.

When I first came to God I smoked three packs a day, drank whiskey, beer, and did drugs. After repentance and getting baptized in Jesus name God wonderfully filled me with the Holy Ghost and the fire just like folks got it in the bible. See Acts chapter one and two...Acts chapter 8 and chapter 19.

God changed my desires instantly. I have absolutely no cravings for those things since.

Practically anything can get in the way. Hobbies, entertainment, sports, or just pure laziness.

The word disciple comes from the word discipline. We do have to say no to some things and yes to others like prayer, faithfulness, teaching bible studies, preaching, and bible reading.

Those were things that I was a slave to. I did not give them up, but rather was released from them.

Every Sunday of my youth wasted in Church. I was supposed to follow but it was all nonsense.

It's more like Jesus set me free from some things that I was really attached to.

Giving up my will to follow His.

Blessings

Yes I have lost many worldly friends and someone I truly loved because the Lord told me that I needed to follow Him not them.

We need to die to self in order to be used of God.
It has been a real sacrifice for me to follow God.
I am not sorry.

All my desires. I always seek to know the will of God and obey them even if it hurts.
