I am searching for a second car with better gas mileage than my SUV. I saw an ad in craigslist and my husband said they were good cars, but there was no price so I called to see if it was still for sale. I looked up blue book which was $5000ish so I assumed he would be asking about the same. I get there and it is an alright car, I would probably buy it if it was $4000 or so. He wanted $9800 firm! lol... I just said "Huh? I appreciate it, but that is way over what I would be willing to pay for this car. Thanks anyways." He said, so how much *would* you be willing to pay? I told him blue book said $5000, but I would only give $4000 because it had a few dents. He just goes off saying "Hahahahaha Lady you have lost your mind. I didn't put this car for sale to be low-balled and to have people waste my time! Get out of here." Then he throws his hands up and walks in his house. I was with a friend and she was just kind of shocked. I was speechless and rolled my eyes and left. I get maybe a block and he calls me screaming how he has had that car since it was new and what an insult it was to low-ball him and he was "amazed at my gall(sp?) and stupidity". I am wondering should I let my husband call him or leave it be? He called 3 more times but I ignored the calls. I am thinking craigslist killer lol and with my luck these days....
