true story folks: My hubby? and I planned an intimate get away to Highgate Springs on Lake Champlain in Vermont. The web pages made the place look perfect, just what we were looking for, or so we thought. I was pitch dark when we arrived and only found the place by following a fire truck that was on it's way to put out a telephone pole that was on fire just outside our cottage. The next morning we woke to find a couple of Melha Shriners riding in a bathtub on wheels down the street drinking bloody mary's at 7am. The only restaurant was filled with loud Shriners so we decided to drive to a restaurant away from the resort. Little did we know that it was about 40 miles to the nearest town. But off we went, and just about a mile down the road we see a man laying by the roadside having convulsions. We stop to help only to find he is diabetic. We do not have our cell phones so I drive back to our cottage to get him some help. When he finally comes around (about an hour or so later) he say's "who are you" we tell him and he gets up and walks back to his house. We follow him to make sure he's okay and meet his wife who says "Oh, don't worry about him, that happens all the time". It just got worse and worse.
