My husband is divorced from his ex-wife for a couple years now, divorced before I met him. We live in Canada, and they both get to see the kids for exactly the same amount of time. However in Canada my husband still has to pay his ex-wife support because he makes more money. I personally would never ask for money if I only take care of my kids half of the time if I were her, but I'm not, and the law is the law right. Anyway, she left a good job and took a crummy one, knowing full well ahead of time this job was going pay her less. Now she's t hinking because she gets paid less, because of her choice of job change, VOLUNTARY by the way, that some court is going to tell my husband to pay her more? His salary hasn't gone up. Have you or anyone you know been in this situation? I think I know she's wrong, but I'd like some solid experience from others to confirm! Thanks
BTW - This new job that pays her less money puts her in a really bad situation, because she's really far from the kid's school, so she can't be counted on for an emergency, even if it's her legal day.
