Tom Smith, a Republican Senate candidate from Pennsylvania, was attempting to prove how in-the-know he is about women's bodies and rape by discounting the ridiculous "legitimate rape" comment that Rep. Todd Akin made last week. Instead, he just ended up saying yet another really stupid and offensive thing by stating that a pregnancy caused by rape is just like "having a baby out of wedlock."
