I have a Compaq Presario F700 with Windows Vista. Sometime around January-April I left a DVD playing on my computer for a couple weeks, never turning it off or anything. When I finally tried to take the DVD out, the CD-DVD drive wouldn't open. It took multiple weeks and multiple tries to open it, but it finally coughed it up. It still won't open on command to this day. When it finally does open, it doesn't recognize the disk at all. No auto play and nothing in "my computer". Along with this issue, my SD port refuses to recognize a card, again, no auto play or anything in "my computer". And I've noticed that only a few of my USB ports are working correctly. In the device manager only one device appears under "disk drives" and it says that it is working properly. I have restarted my computer multiple times, and nothing has changed. Is there something I can do with the Registry Editor that may help. Also, I have no viruses, I have checked multiple times with Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware. If I reinstall my motherboard chipset drivers, will it affect my computer/personal files in any way?
