Well, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray both output in 1080p, the highest resolution possible, and both can output about the same sound, so there's really no difference between the two. The problen is, as of Friday, the HD DVD Promotional dissolved, which means HD-DVD is officially dead and no HD-DVD titles will be released. So it would be rather foolish to go HD-DVD now. Go with Blu-Ray.
