HDMI output is necessary for playing normal DVD's? and not HD or Blu-Ray....?

I am about to purchase a DVD home theatre system.

The SONY DAV-DZ151KB is affordable. but it has no output for HDMI ,,,, will it make any quality difference if I play normal DVD's and not blu ray or HD DVD....i reside in India so i shud forget about the new HD content......

by the way quality will be high If i connect it with A COMPONENT CABLE right?
