Help! Burning smell after mudding (NEWBIE) 4x4 Jeep?

I just got an 02 jeep grand Cherokee limited 4x4. I drove it through a little mud (first time ever in any car) and now my car smells like its burning. This is freaking me out cuz i just got it. Is this normal? How can I get rid of it?

Also how should i clean it up
 
Jack it up and put it on GOOD jack stands and use your garden hoes to get rid of any mud you can see. Let it dry and then look for any thing that might be bent or rubbing on some thing.
Then AS SOON AS POSIBLE get back in it and do some more mudding.
Just remember " IF IT AIN"T FUN DON"T DO IT.
 
That smell is the smell of victory!!! Or maybe mud and dead vegetation on your exhaust system. It will burn off or you can crawl under with the water hose and spray it off. And remember, you have to leave the mud on it for at least 3 days after each trip into the mud so people will know that you know what to do with a Jeep.
