Help! Greasy ooze liquid dripping out of Stove Vent!?

I noticed dark greasy slime/oil had leaked into my pot on my stovetop.
It dripped down from the stove vent. I looked up and there is slimy oil liquid that had leaked out of the ventilation hose (that leads the sucked gas away).

What could this possibly be? I live on the 14th floor of an apartment. Could this be a pest or vermin living in the ventilation hose? Pooping/peeing down my vent tube? Or is this oil/grease that has built up over the years and is now leaking down?

Please help! And how would you recommend I clean it? I am not "handy" and don't have any tools to take apart the apparatus. Should I call an engineer to disassemble and replace the entire vent tube? Sounds expensive, but I can't have this disgusting liquid dripping onto my stove as I'm cooking....

Call the landlord and maintenance. You can clean it up with a good household cleaner. Lysol, ammonia, even Dawn dish liquid or if you have it Goo Gone is great for gross messes. It's unlikely that it's pests. It's more likely a roof leak or a leak in the vent pipe itself.
