Help jail breaking my iphone?

Did you try extracing the files together so it makes one file.If not write back cause l jailbreak ipods alot.
 
I am unlocking my iphone 3G, on my mac, but everytime i try downloading the firmware OS 3.0, it saves into a folder instead of looking like one thing to click on, and breaks off into more little groups inside it, but all the websites say its supposed to just be clicked on and done with? Help? Does it have to do with the IPSW somehow?
