Help me bond with my sugar glider...?

So I got a 12 week old sugar glider a few nights ago and I'd like some advice on bonding with him. First he didn't want to have anything to do with me and would attack my hands. I feel like we've made some progress though. We've sat in my shower (with out water of course) a couple of times so he could crawl around me and get used to me. He's fine crawling all over my legs and back but as soon as he saw my hand he would start crying and freaking out again. He kept trying to go back into his sleeping pouch, so I told him if he wants to play in there I get to play in there too. So I put my hand in first, then he crawled in. He bit my fingers a few times but saw that I wasn't leaving so he just curled up and went to sleep. If he is in his sleeping pouch I can pick it up, he starts to cry, but I can put my hand in without him biting me and calm him down and he'll fall asleep. If he's crawling around his cage and I put my hand near him he attacks it and runs away. Even sometimes if I just lay my hand on the bottom of the cage. So tonight again I got him in his sleeping pouch and he slept for a while with my hand in there. Now we are hanging out in an empty bedroom and he won't come near me. I don't understand. He trusts me enough to sleep in my hand in his pouch but doesn't want anything to do with me. Oh, I've also put a worn shirt and a couple worn socks in his cage so he can get used to my smell even when I'm not there. Any tips or advice?
