Parents and guardians, do you think you’re protecting your children from the dangers online by using parental controls? Think again, because nowadays there are plenty of ways to get through parental controls such as proxy servers so that your children can get their hands on anything they want in cyberspace. However, using parental controls is a good way to guard your kids from danger, but the filters also block off material that isn’t even offensive. There is also a bigger issue similar to this topic- censoring the actual internet. This is not only inconvenient, but also takes away what many people died for, and that is freedom of speech. We shouldn’t let those people down. We should let everybody’s voice be heard online, even if their words are harmful or offensive because we can’t protect everybody, and that’s the way it is in the world outside of the internet.
