There is a pretty terrible rumor going around about my friend. The rumor is that she was doing something nasty to a guy in the boy's bathroom. She tells me it isn't true. When she was telling me the true story of what happened she looked like she was about to burst into tears. People have been staring at her and calling her names. She was asking me what she should do, but I didn't know! I told her to take it to the school councilers, but she said all that they would be probably do is take the girls who call her names into the office and tell them not to do it again. She's right. That's all they would and could do. I am just trying to comfort her and tell her that people will start to forget about it soon. What else could I do or say?
