my check engine light came on suddenly today with seemingly no other problems, but then when I put the car in park, it died. Now it drives otherwise perfectly fine on the road, at stop signs is fine, but when I park and put it into park position, it dies. what could be causing this and would this be an expensive problem?
it's a 2004 ford focus
btw, I keep up on all oil changes so it's not that. I checked the oil and it is fine. the oil filter is fine.
