Today at about three o' clock pm i smashed my right ring finger in between two ten pound hand held weights. It's about twelve hours later and it has turned a maroon-ish purple an is significantly swollen. The nail is not broken, and there aren't any visual signs of bleeding under the nail. It is slightly pale tho. The rest of my finger has grown pale as well, and the area that is swollen and purple is cool to the touch compared to the rest of the fingers. The throbbing is still present, even after a few ice packs and elevating the hand. I'm concerned whether i need to go have this looked at or not? I'm not sure if it needs to be drained or of this will just heal by itself in due time. Please help, I'm extremely concerned!!
