Help with... Nokia Nuron 5230?

I have this fone nokia nuron 5230. My question is, in this fone there is a app. Instant Messanger. If I use that app. would fone use INTERNET?? I have unlimitaed texting plan, however I don't have internet or anyother plan. If i use that instant mssnger app. would i get charged??
