my little red eared slider turtle has been with me for about 3 months now. He seems a tough little character, except for lately I'm noting this build up of .. 'gunk' on his shell. It looks well, sort of algae like. It doesn't seem to be bothering him, he still has a pretty good appetite. I'm just wondering if anyone else has any knowledge of this and is it ok?
I treat his new water with the drops the pet store has to dechlorinate it.
Also I got him a little snap on light bulb w/ 40 W bulb, but he doesn't seem to be moving towards it, should I increase the strength?
