Ok, so I need help. I am currently using T-mobile and I want to get a android phone that is cheap and is going to get the Ice Cream Sandwich update. So I currently want the pantech burst, and I am going to unlock it. But, then I come into another problem. I was searching and I saw that you could not use a android phone without a data plan. So I was wondering if there was a way to use a android phone without a data plan, and one last thing, Could I use apps without using a data plan? Thank you for your time.

If you get a phone that is not branded for T-Mobile they will have no way of knowing that it is a smartphone. As long as you do not input the T-Mobile data settings you should be fine with an unlocked AT&T smartphone.

of coarse you can use an android phone without a data plan. its just considered pointless because they pretty much depend on it....but, its still usable, oh, and it depends on the app. facebook for instance wont work unless your in a wifi zone, but something like froggy jump would be fine....

You can't have any apps without data. Data is what facebook, twitter, youtube, the app store, and all things that use the internet depend on. Without data, you can't get or use anything that requires internet. Smartphones are pointless with no data.
