Help with Telus mobility?

My 3 year contract with telus ends this September. My phone now is hooked in with my parents plans, and they have been with telus for about 5 or 6 years. When I start my new plan in September, will I get a free phone with my plan? I plan to start a 2 year contract.

Normally you will get the '2 year' contract price, however, if your parents are big time customers (they spend $200-300 a month with TELUS) you may get a phone for free. Their tenure with TELUS is more likely to get you some free features though and that can add up to a better deal in the end instead of a free phone. You also stated that YOU are starting a 2 year contract, if it is in YOUR name then you are basically starting from scratch and won't get much a deal on anything. TELUS rewards clients who stick around for a few years. We all had to start somewhere but the deals will get better over time.
