I'm trying to write a zombie novel for teenagers. I only have a rough idea of how the story is going to go.
14 year old Imogen 'Gen' Stump, her best friend Hannah, and their two guy besties Eamon and Esmon are having a fun day out at the shops. However, zombies attack their town and the four teens are forced to hide out in a supermarket with 20 strangers who have barricaded themselves inside for safety. They survive in the building, not knowing how the rest of the town is or if their families are still alive. But after around two weeks, zombies somehow get into the building and the group is forced to run for it. A woman who was with them in the supermarket gives them her car keys and they manage to drive away to safety.
As they try to escape the town, the group see a group of government offical type trucks and cars in the middle of a paddock and go to investigate. It turns out that the government has known about zombies and the chance of a zombie apocalypse for years, and have been running experiments to learn mroe about them and how to stop them, all while keeping it a secret from the general public for fear of their safety. Once the kids find out about this, they are forced to become the governments offical zombie hunters. They are given training and equipment, and are sent back into the town to destroy the zombies that have taken over their worlds for good.
I'm sorry, I know that the synopsis I wrote sucked, but I havent gotten very far yet. What sort of plotlines or events or whatever should I add to it?
