First just to give an idea of what im working with, my system includes:
Asus Rampage III Extreme
i7 950 normally at 3.6Ghz
GTX 570
750 Watt, 45 amp PSU
2x 150Gb seagate 7200rpm HDDs
2Tb Western Digital 7200rpm
I noticed the problem first when i plugged in my headphones to the front audio jack. It does not occur when i plug them into the rear audio jack on the motherboard. In the headphones i hear a high pitched noise that seems to react to what is happening on screen. when i move my mouse, scroll on pages, play games, use 3ds max, or watch movies, the sound changes. I unplugged the headphones and when i get down close to my graphics card it seems to be the source of this noise. I am wondering why my graphics card is making this noise, and why it is interfering with the front audio jack. Also, when i load crysis, i hear a much more intense but similar high pitched noise from the graphics card (only during the crytek, ea games, nvidia, and intel adds that play before the game loads, and the main menu)
does this have something to do with the frame rate being ridiculously high at this point?
i am at a loss so any help is appreciated,
Greg.
