I'm sure the TV has a digital audio output (optical or coax) but you didn't specify whether the stereo does or not. Your cables should work but you can't get 5.1 DD using those.If it's just a 2 channel stereo, just connect using rca stereo cables (red/white) from the TV's red/white audio out.</blockquote>
