can someone please explain the connection between Islam, Judaism & Christianity through Abraham?

They all contain the myth about Abraham making a contract with a god that later developed into the idea of the one-god.

Judaism stems from Abraham's promised son by God while Islam stems from Abraham's "impatience with God" son.

Abraham was promised a son by God, but when he and his wife grew impatient with waiting for God's promise to happen they had another son with their servant. finally, in God's own timing, He delivered his promise to Abraham by allowing his wife to become pregnant. God blessed this lineage.

islam is a religion based on faithlessness while Judaism is based on God's promises.

Christians serve the EXACT same God as Jews do. the Jews, however, have denied Jesus Christ as the promised messiah so they continue with Old Testament laws while Christians live by Christ's fulfillment of the law.

hope this helps.

Abraham had two sons: Ishmael, whom he sired through a slave, and Isaac, whom he fathered with his elderly wife. Islam arose from the descendants of Ishmael. Judaism is traced through Isaac's descendants. Christianity came from Judaism: Jesus Christ was a Jew.

They all say that they are sons of Abraham. Islam is basically supposed to be descended from one son while Christianity/Judaism were branched from the ancestors of the other. Christianity was the same thing as Judaism until Jesus' birth. At that point they split because Jews don't believe that Jesus was the son of God.

Abraham was married to a woman who couldn't have a baby because they were very old. But God promised them both they were to give birth, they grew impatient, and that led to Abraham having a baby with the house keeper.

The Islam religion comes from the descendants of the House Keeper and Abraham, while Judaism and Christianity are developed from God's promised birth with Abraham and his wife.

You have a great question and one that makes a lot of people scratch their head (figure of speech). So here is the low down.... ready? Abraham had two sons. The first one is born from his wife's helper and this son's name is Ishmael. He and his mother were thrown out by Abraham's wife. Abraham's wife has a son Isaac. Isaac has a son Jacob who then has 12 sons. Joseph being the youngest was sold by his brothers and we know the rest of that story and if you don't, it is so intriguing and interesting. From the 12 sons of Jacob comes Judea who is the father of the Jews linage. Not until the birth of Jesus came a paradigm shift and through Jesus Christ comes Christianity. The other sons of Jacob (who's name was changed to Israel by God) are accounted for and you can look those up and even draw a family tree. But not let us forget Abraham's first born son Ishmael who had 12 sons also and were peace makers. From this family tree comes Muhammad.
So in summary we have father Abraham who has two sons 1st Ishmael who has 12 sons and the linage goes down to Muhammad. 2nd son is Isaac who has Jacob who has 12 sons, one being Judah the linage of Jesus Christ. So now you see the connection of Abraham to Islam, Judaism and Christianity.

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Abraham -> Issac and his descendants -> Judaism -> Christianity.
?
Ishmael and his descendants
?
Islam

- All three claims that there is only One God.
- The fundamental theological difference arises from the acceptance/ denial of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
- Each one of these three religions have something in common with a second other, which totally contradicts the third other.

Example:
- Jesus is Messiah in both Christianity and Islam, but not in Judaism.
- Wine is allowed in Judaism and Christianity, but not in Islam.
- God is one in Judaism and Islam, but its a triune God in Christianity

You'd be surprised to know just how important/loved/respected Jesus and the Virgin Mary are in Islam (Chapter 19 is dedicated to Virgin Mary in Quran).

10 brief points Christians
should know about Muslims and Jesus

By Sound Vision Staff Writer

1. Muslims love Jesus. We also love Abraham, Moses, and Noah, to name just a few other Prophets Muslims revere. May God's peace be upon all of these great messengers of God.

2. Muslims also love the mother of Jesus, the Virgin Mary. We believe she was a pious and noble woman chosen over all of the women of the world.

3. Muslims believe that Jesus was born miraculously of a virgin mother and no father. His birth is miraculous like the birth of Adam, the first human being, who was created with neither mother nor father.

4. Muslims do not believe that Jesus was the son of God. God is so powerful and self-sufficient that He does not need a son or any kind of partner.

5. In Arabic Bible the name for God is Allah. Therefore all Arab Christian call God Allah as Muslim do as well.

6. Jesus did not die on the cross. Rather, God saved him as his enemies were confused about him. Jesus was taken up by God to Heaven.

7. Jesus is called Isa (pronounced Eesa) in Arabic.

8. Jesus performed miracles by the Will of God, like healing the blind and those with leprosy.

9. Jesus prayed to the same God as all Prophets and we pray to.

10.Jesus will return before the end of the world.

The second coming of Jesus is one of our core beliefs as well as one of the signs that judgment day is near.

Islam, Christianity and Judaism have a lot of common ground... and islam is the last chance for people .

Here's the english translation of Virgin Mary's chapter in the Quran
