Seriously, why would God inspire a book consisting of ethical systems and morality tales when he could write about Chia pets and Diet Pepsi? The Bible is not Marty McFly's Sport's Almanac. It's a book about examples and teachings of how an individual should live. It has some prophesies at the end but it's up to you to decide if they're just a bunch of ancient JudeoChristian non-sense, or whether there's something to them. Christianity does not believe that prophets are given 24/7 access to the omniscient mind of God (although that would be awesome), but instead are mostly given morals and teaching, and sometimes some prophecies from the Almighty. I hope my answer at least let's you know where other people are coming from. Since you're probably from the USA, you know that we don't have to agree or even get along on religious matters. But if you learn something new every day about a culture different from your own (and why they believe the crazy things they do), then you'll be a cultural asset to your town and your nation, because very few people are really trying to understand each other. Nearly everyone just wants to convince everyone else they're idiots.
