How can I argue my Ticket?

I stopped at the stop sign and turned around the corner. Waiting around the corner was a police officer. He said I ran the stop sign, I told him no. We talked and he gave me a ticket. I want to go to court and argue. Do i need a lawyer? Should i bring (evidence)a picture of the street and where I was. What should I wear into court? How do the proceedings work and is their anything else I should know?

Thanks so much

A picture of the intersection will not help. The case will be based on testimony. The officer will say you ran it, and you will say you didn't. Because of the officer's training and experience, his testimony will be given more credibility.
