How can I convert 40 minute videos into Xvid format quickly?

I have some videos ranging from 40-45 minutes in AVI format and I need them to be Xvid so that they will play on a disc in a DVD Player. Can anyone suggest a quick and free software to use online or download to convert them? I need it for Monday morning. Please help!!!

I dont mind a watermark if it is a free trial but please try to tell me that doesnt have one
