loser she met online? She's 23. She had to take a leave from college because of medical issues, an eating disorder, and also depression, all lifelong problems for her. She has a part time job, lives with friends, and our parents largely support her. She thinks that since she is a loser (in her opinion, especially as compared with her friends who are graduating school, starting careers, have it together, know what they want, etc), she can't consider going after good quality guys. As I said, this dude dropped out of college, lives at home, and has no job and no car. She's driving 2 hours to his house next week while his parents are out of town, to meet him for the first time and spend the night. She's never had a boyfriend or done much more than kiss a guy. How can I convince her not to do this? If I come on strong, telling her this guy is a loser, she shuts me out. If I tell her she's awesome and deserves better, she doesn't believe me. She's very stubborn. What can I do???
