The Adventures of the Pepingo Siblings: Isomina

Chapter One
Escape!
“Isaac, can I talk to you for a minute.” Cassandra asked, “Sure thing Cass.” I’m Isaac Pepingo, age fourteen, my sister, Tera Pepingo, age eleven, and my brother, Dominice Pepingo, age seven, are orphans, currently going to the Newman Masters Orphanage. Our parents died when Dominice was born. Tera was four, and I was seven. The doctor took us to Melbrook Orphanage, since then, we’ve moved from orphanage to orphanage, and foster home to foster home. Every couple that adopts us ends up bringing us back because we’re, quote on quote, “so destructive,” and, back then, we’d just chill out in Newman Masters Orphanage, well, not for long that’s for sure.
“If you can’t stop destroying your foster parent’s furniture, you and your siblings will be separated, and you have a very little chance of finding them again. Do you understand me?” Cassandra asked, “Ya, I understand you, and I think it’s bull crap!” I replied, “That’s what you get for being destructive!” Cassandra snapped, “Whatever, and guess what, there won’t be a separation.” I informed her, “And why’s that?” Cassandra asked, “You’ll see.” I replied.
Back in our room, Tera, Dominice, and I we’re plotting my master plan. “Tera, how much money have you saved?” I asked, “About one hundred dollars, Why?” She replied, “What about you, Dominice?” I asked, ignoring Tera’s question, “Two hundred dollars, maybe two-fifty.” Dominice replied, “Sweet, I got about four hundred, that gives us seven hundred fifty dollars.” I whispered, ‘Answer my question!” Tera yelled, “Keep your voice down.” I said, “Knock Knock, It’s Cass, Can I speak to you guys?” Cassandra asked, “In a second.” I said, “Can you bring me some water?” Tera asked, “Sure.” Cass replied, “Ok, I bought us a minute, now tell me what your planning.” Tera whispered, “We’re running away.” I whispered backed, “What, when?” Tera asked, (get used to a million questions from her, she’s very curious.) “Tonight at midnight, so pack the necessaries, not the needs.” I said, “Here’s your water, Tera.” Cassandra said, “Thanks but I’m not thirsty anymore, in fact, I’m going to bed. Night” Tera said, Dominice and I agreed, “Night.” Cass said.
“Isaac, Isaac, wake up Isaac.” Tera whispered, “What?” I said quietly, “It’s eleven thirty, let’s grab our stuff, and get some food from the kitchen, then ditch this place.” Tera said, “Crap, it’s already eleven thirty, ok let’s hurry. I jumped out of my bed and reached under the bed to grab my suitcase. We woke up Dominice and tip-toed down the dark hallway to the stairs; the only light shining in is from the window. “Man, I can’t see a thing, how much food should we grab?” Tera asked, “As much as we can carry.” I replied, “Where would we go?” Dominice asked, I stopped to answer him, “Well, we’re going to walk to the post office, get three passports, head for the airport, get three tickets for Brazil, and never be heard of again, we’re going to ask somebody to train us on how to survive in the wild, then we’ll become fully fledged adventurers.” I said, “Oh.” Dominice said.
We finally made it to the stairs, “Sh, do you hear that.” Tera whispered, “Someone’s coming, hurry, down the stairs!” I whispered. We quietly ran down the stairs. “Hide.” I whispered at the bottom of the stairs. Tera ran and hid in the fireplace, Dominice hid under the couch right in front of Tera, I hid in a cabinet where we keep all the plastic bags. “Who’s here?” A voice said. It’s Cass I thought. “Show yourselves!” Cass demanded, “Cass, go to bed, No one’s out there.” The headmaster said, “Fine.” Cass said, and she made her way up the stairs.
We all emerged from our hiding spots and meet at the fridge. “That was to close.” Tera said, “Way to close, now let’s get the food and leave.” I whispered. I opened the fridge door; we took some water bottles, bread, granola bars, and some Cashews. “Ok, let’s leave.” Dominice said.
