I've been been playing oblivion again on my laptop, which is nearly 2 years old now, it was running absolutely fine until a couple of days ago, where the frame rate dropped to make the game pretty much unplayable.
I've checked in other games and the laptop itself seems to be running fine, to put it into perspective, I've been playing BF3 on low settings and averaging 30fps, whereas in Oblivion a game that is over 5 years old i'm getting about 5fps, with very little change when I fiddle with the resolution/graphics.
I've tried reinstalling the game with no help what so ever, tried mods to smooth out the fps etc, etc.
I own an Acer Aspire 5740
i5 M430 2.27 GHz
4.00Gb RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series
500Gb HD (plenty of free space)
I also updated all of my drivers a matter of days ago (right down to the webcam just because i could)
I really hope someone can help, and yes i know skyrim will be out soon, but I wanna play oblivion
