How can I fix my Western Digital My book hard drive?

I have a Western Digital My Book Home Edition 1TB external hard-drive. I recently plugged it into my Mac and it told to there was firmware update. I let it run its course and about halfway through it said there was an error. Now, my hard drive is not reconized by any computer. When you power up the drive the light in the front the stays solid white rather than flashing or up and down sequence.

Is there a fix to this? I checked around the internet but found nothing.
