How can I get an android phone without having to get the whole data service

Andriod phone comes with the data plan you need the data plan to be able to use an andriod phone

Why would you need an android if youre not gonna use the extra features? I have an Iphone and when i went to get my contract they told me i needed a data plan.. I think it's either you get a data plan or you buy it unlocked.

If you try to use a smart phone without paying for data you will get a text msg from your carrier saying you will be charged for a data plan per month. This happened to my fiance.
