A couple of years ago, our LG refrigerator stopped working. We brought an old refrigerator up from the basement to use in the meantime. We would like to get it repaired because we know the old one will not work forever, and our LG was only six years old. My husband says that the circuit board control module needs to be replaced, but it has a plastic cover over it. He has been unable to find a way to remove the cover without breaking it. When I went back to the dealer, he told me that they had had a lot of problems with these and had stopped selling them. My husband tried calling LG, spent a lot of time on hold, and found them to be unhelpful. We have been unable to find a repair shop which will service them. I contacted the HVAC department at the local technical college, but they weren't helpful either. My husband says there must be some trick to removing the plastic cover. Also, is there anywhere one can get a replacement control module? The refrigerator is LFTG 2011 BS. It would be great if someone could tell us how to remove the cover on the control module, where to get a replacement control module, or both. Any other suggestions are welcome.
