I'm visiting Austria and want to be able to use my Android Smartphone there. I use about 55MB per day, typically (all those apps!) so would need about 500MB or so of data (3G, etc.). I've hunted T-Mobile and A1 (the ones with decent coverage), but they seem to say that Prepaid can't get sensible data allowances. Clearly, as a visitor, I can't go into contracts and I can't possibly pay the huge normal data costs, so am looking for a data package. They suggest a data SIM, but that's data-only for a dongle for a PC and not for a normal phone.

Surely this is possible...? Anyone know? I do this a lot in countries I visit and it's very simple. In Germany it's €1 per day. Same in Greece. In South Africa you buy a data bundle. Same in the US. In India I do it too. I can't believe Austria is that far behind everywhere else in this.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks.
