Hey there, a few days ago, i had the dreaded Blue Screen of Death... luckily for my files, i had ubuntu 10.04 dual booted along with xp sp2. Ubuntu was still fully functional, so i saved all my files, and put them on an external harddrive. Sorted! Problem was, XP wouldn't leave the BSOD even if i clicked every combination of every button. I thought I'd be really clever and do a hard drive spring clean, so put the Ubuntu live CD into my computer, and entered the 'GParted' program to delete my partitions. Everything is now gone. I've tried numerous times to reformat the hard drive, putting it in various formats (including NTFS and FAT32). I have told the BIOS to boot CD-Drive first. I have tried manually booting the Windows XP SP2 disc (by mashing f8 as the computer starts). But every time, i come to a black screen which says something to the effect of "booting from CD Booting from CD error: Partition not found Grub rescue> " To which, i can do nothing... Now - at this stage. my hard drive has literally NOTHING on it. So someone, please, give me some help! It's keyboard-bashingly frustrating!!
