I just purchased a new laptop, an HP Pavilion 9005us with Windows XP. This notebook was operating fine in the US. I've just moved to London and I live in a dorm with wired Internet connection (using an ethernet cable) in my room. Still, my local area connection does not work! I talked to HP Support and they walked me through downloading a new NVIDIA nforce driver that did not solve the problem. Please let me know if you need more information. Points/best answer to the solution that works. By the way, wireless Internet connection works fine in our cafe. Hi, I am looking to get my wired internet connection, through my ethernet cable to work, nothing is wrong with the connection, because other laptops can use it without any trouble. I wanted to add that all network connections are enabled and that I can use the same ethernet plug and source in the wall to access internet on anyone else's laptop. Once again, please let me know if you can offer any guidance!
