I bought a small potted pine tree for Christmas this year and it's been in my house ever since. I'd like to plant it outside but I don't want to kill it by shocking it or something. I live in CT so it's still cold this time of year. Can I plant it outside now or should I wait until it's warm outside? Should I leave it on my deck during the day and bring it in at night to try and acclimate it to the outdoors? It's been in my nice warm house all winter and I'm not sure what to do with it.

as long that you have healthy roots I would wait until Spring to plant it outdoor

(I'm surprised the pine is still with you, are you sure it's not a dwarf Alberta Spruce?? )

No way this can go out now! It is not in a dormant state, going out now would kill all the growing points.........remember the root ball is also the most cold sensitive part of the plant, it can't set outside above ground.

So when the weather warms to where night temps are consistently above 40 (at least) then the plant can go outside, into the ground. You'll have to keep it partiallycause it has not been in full sunlight indoors and will burn. Gradually you can expose it to sunlight.
