How can I potty train my new basset hound?

I just got her and she's about 5-6 months old. I'm not quite sure how to start trying to train her because of the possible training she may have had with the last owners.

She has peed several times since bringing her home today. I have taken her outside multiple times but she never uses the restroom. I have always trained my dogs by rubbing their noses in it but everything I read never says to do that anymore.

I heard basset hounds are hard to train. Is that true?
