How can I send my pictures via bluetooth onto my laptop?

I have a Dell Inspiron 510m, with windows vista. I want to transfer pictures from my sony ericsson s500i to the laptop via bluetooth as I have lost my connecting cable. I have tried following windows instructions on setting up a bluetooth connection, but when I go into Control Panel, there are no options for Bluetooth Devices, and I can't find them on any searches on my computer.

Is it not wireless enabled (please forgive me, I am rubbish with computers and phones)

If not, all my pictures are stored on a memory stick in my phone, is there any way of transferring this onto the laptop?
 
Short cut is to but a multi-format card reader, they come cheap these days. Connect it to your USB port, and read your stick. This can be done without stress.
