What you can do is not seed anything you download. As long as you're not a member of any private tracker sites that monitor your share ratio, you'll still be able to download whatever you want with minimal uploading. It's just impossible to completely eliminate the risk of being caught due to the nature of the BitTorrent protocol. Do make sure that you have set Azureus to use non-standard ports, though.
