how can i unlock my sony ericsson xperia x10?

I just bought a Sony ericsson xperia x10 from my buddy, it was a rogers phone and I am with bell. The sim card fits, but i need to unlock the phone.

He doesn't have a rogers sim card to put in the phone. The only sim card i have access too is my active bell sim card which i use for my HTC legend.

I have put the sim card into the Sony, turned it on, and I was asked to put a sim code or sim pin (or something like that)

any help is appreciated. thanks
