How can you tell if your future mother in law likes you or not?

My future mother in law is a lady who likes to keep things to herself. She rarely talks to people. As a matter of fact, I don't even think she likes to talk to her own husband.
She spoils and loves my boyfriend aka my future husband. It is a little turn off seeing her excessive affection toward him. However, I don't think she's a bad person although she can be a little overbearing, nervous, inconsiderate.

According to my boyfriend, she really likes me. Well, I certainly canot tell. She never gives me any compliments. Then again, she ever gives anybody any compliments. She barely talks to me, then again, she barely talks to anybody.

So for a person with her kind of personality. How can I tell if she likes me or not. Not like it matters, it is still nice to know the truth.

Honestly i think she is a little hard on you because she's so protective. With people who are stronger and don't like emotions that much, it's the little things that tell you if she likes you. See how she is with other people who are not family. Keep being nice and do what you can to please her. That's all you can really do. That way she can't complain which is probably more important than whether she likes you or not. I'm sure she does.
