how come i cant install vlc or divx on my pc?????

so i wanted to watch a movie on stagevu
and they said u need to install divx or vlc so i clicked on dowload and the file downloaded but when i click on run it says connect to the internet when i AM connected wtf is happening help

also vlc doent want to install either
(i need these plug ins to watch stagevu

It will usually ask you to click on the plug in link.That will take you to the download site.

I`ve never had problems installing so i`m not sure what the problem is there.
