'95 Subaru Legacy 'L'? I just had my car towed for repairs and when I picked it up they had left the car in FWD. I now keep the car in FWD to save gas and switch it back over by taking the fuse out of the FWD case as needed for bad weather, off-road, etc... My mechanic told me that he has been placing switches in cars to do this automatically so you don't have to get out and manually pull out the fuse and store it somewhere till you need it again. Can I do this job with relative ease? Seems I can do most other car jobs after going through a step by step process, but this might be harder because I will have to remove the whole dash to install the switch, I don't know much about wiring but I have all the time in the world to learn before doing it. I've searched around and what I think I'm asking is if there is a guide anywhere on the internet that I can print out and read and follow to do this or do I need to talk to someone who has done this before, before I do it myself...?
