How do I change ringtones on Pantech C740?

Two friends of mine sent me some ring tones via a text and I saved them to my phone (they play just fine and sound great.) However, whenever I try to set one of these songs as a ring tone on my phone it greys out the option "select" and all it will do is let me play the sound bite. How do I set these songs as ringtones?
