How do I connect a laptop to a O2 Atom Exec thro Wi-fi to get internet through GPRS?

Both devices get connected through wi-fi. But I just can't seems to get internet from my wireless carrier to my laptop through the XDA. When I use other mobiles through USB connections, I can access internet.
