I am 13 and phoneless. I am asked everyday by friends at my school if or when I'm getting a cell phone. Since I'm literally one of the only kids in my grade that don't have a cell phone. So far, my mother has told me she will give me one at 16. My dad says if he had the money he'd get me one right away (but my mom certainly won't agree with him. They're separated). I have fair grades. A + B average. I have 3 Advanced classes. Advanced Science, Advanced Language Arts English and Advanced Language Arts Writing. I am a constant Movie Go-er, I go to movies all the time with a couple of friends, and always need a cell phone to call my mom to tell her to pick me up. This gets annoying for her even, because she has to give me HER cell phone and she is phoneless for as long as I am at the movies. I told her this as an excuse, but for some reason she didn't budge. Another reason I think is because I am also a mall rat, and have to borrow cell phone, same issue as going to the movies. Plus, I am probably one of the most social people you'll ever meet. Right now, I rely on Myspace and Facebook, but even some of my closest friends don't have them (because they don't, or because parents don't want them), and most distant friends. Like I said, I'm one of the only people in my grade without a cell phone, so I could easily talk to ALL my friends, since literally everyone I know has a cell phone. But not any of them rely on Facebook or Myspace like I do.
