How do I download and share bittorrent files on Apple computer?

I've been using pirate bay with a PC to download bittorrent files.
I tried using an Apple and found it doesn't work with Pirate Bay.
What website do Mac people use for peer-to-peer sharing, if pirate bay doesn't work for Macs? I need a new desktop computer, and I was thinking of switching to Apple, but not if I can't download my favorite TV shows and movies!
 
You need "Transmission" for Macs.
