How do I eliminate FM radio interference in my stereo receiver?

The interference is definitely radiated from a nearby station because it goes away when I move the receiver to certain spots in the room. However it is not practical to move my desk to the center of the room. There is nothing wrong with the stereo except that it's probably from the 80s. I tried multiple [old] receivers and they all have this problem on the top floor. I also tried ferrite beads on the speaker wires but no luck. Any ideas?
